Never thought I’d push on my back, but I needed to use the first position with my legs and feet supported to really get my pushing going before I switched to other positions. Something about the leverage I could get from holding behind my knees. It just ended up being more productive for me. The side-lying overwhelmed me for some reason and I couldn’t get a good handle on pushing. For reference, I had a natural, unmedicated, physiological birth at a birthing center. Ended up finishing my pushing on all fours on the bed. Craziest, most intense experience of my life! And now I have a 2-day old 🥰

Hmmm. I remember when I was pregnant, i would watch these videos from morning till night. When i was in labour, i don't know what I did sef. Cuz the pains couldn't let me memorise things i learnt 😂. Its well

Gravity exists why not use it like before? Laying down is for the doctor’s comfort only

My last birth, I was pinned down on my back and had so many fingers and thumb imprints on my thighs I was black and blue my body screaming to turn over but I was pinned! He's 11 next month and I still remember the trauma..

I side laid for the transition period because my babies tend to move more smoothly that way then got up and went on all fours with knees inverted to open pelvis more and birthed baby in one push ❤

if i ever find myself pregnant and in labor id really try to squat on the bed with a towel under me. or on my hands and knees. idk why but that just seems the easiest way to me

my grandmother remembers what her grandmother said - in the olden days, when our women gave birth, they folded their knees and sat half-lying. the foot should be without socks and should be pressed on the ground. people get their strength from the ground. and now women's legs are up and they are weak. the foot should be without socks and on the ground. The foot receives energy and minerals from the soil. the child is born early because the legs are pressed against the abdomen
