As a Floridian, I can promise you that when trying to take a vacation or go on a trip anywhere within Florida, it's annoyingly crowded everywhere. I usually try out of state instead
Edit: Just to clarify, my original comment was written as an exaggeration. Yes, hotspots like Clearwater and classic Floridan tourist locations like Disney World/Universal are always packed, but not every place in Florida is a crowd magnet. There are quieter spots to unwind, like Fort De Soto (my personal favorite), and the comments say Deerfield/Indian Rocks Beach are good too. Nonetheless, I prefer to escape the usual hustle.

As a person whose lived in florida for 17 years, take your vacation in the off season or on more secluded beaches. Tourist pick the most popular beaches. But there's public beaches where people have time share rentals or beach homes and only visit maybe twice a year. So from fall to Spring that beach is practically empty. Or have maybe 20 or 30 people in a 5 mile stretch. The only thing is, it's really in the middle of nowhere so If you want the bars and shops maybe it's ot for you. But if you just want to be alone and peace and quiet you'll love it.
