100% support for the farmers, they're fighting for their very existence. Labour's plans of 'collectivism' forcing generational farmers to sell due to taxation are insanity. It did't work in the Soviet Union & it did't work in Zimbabwe. Farmers know their land, they're knowledge is worth more than gold mess with farming at your peril. Force them out who or whatever buys now has a debt on the land that will be paid for by us in terms of price rises.

The problem isn’t that they can’t afford to pay the tax, why should they have a special status?
The problem is that supermarkets control the prices farmers get from their produce. And they aren’t paying enough.
The wheat used in a loaf of bread is about 10p. If the supermarkets paid farmers 20% more thats just 2p a loaf. Not a massive difference to shoppers but a huge difference to farmers.
We the tax payers are effectively being asked to subsidise the supermarkets. Who have seen their profits in the billions rise faster than even food inflation.
