What a tragic incident. I woke up about 2 am the next morning and got on my phone and the news of the accident was everywhere. I just couldn't believe it. It didn't take long before I was crying. I wasn't familiar with the P63 but I loved the B17G Texas Raiders so much even my phone knows the Texas Raiders. All I have to do is hit the T and it gives me Texas and I touch the word Texas on the bar above the key board and it gives me Raiders. Every time I saw her on Facebook I always pressed like and made a comment. What a tragic ending to two beautiful aircraft and their crew's. God bless the air crews of both aircraft and may they and the Texas Raiders live forever in the hearts and minds of all those who loved them.

not fun fact: the air museum at warner robins afb in Georgia have a B-17 under restoration and a P-63 inside the ww2 hangar, the B-17 was recently fitted with the original engines of the Memphis Belle, but that’s not the fact I was originally going to mention. The P-63 sits next to the B-17, at the exact angle the P-63 in Dallas hit the B-17. They were placed years before the incident; what a horrible coincidence.

I had the privilege of flying aboard the B17G Flying Fortress Texas Raider just a few months before she went down in this accident. I can't imagine the terror of the crew of the Texas Raider and the pilot of the P-63. May they rest in peace, flying the skies forevermore.

I got to climb inside that b-17 when it visited Colorado and the name of it was the Texas raider

For those of you who don’t know this event happened during the Dallas air show on November 12th 2022 when a p-63 king cobra collided with a b-17 which ended up splitting the b-17 completely in 2, which also ended up tearing up the p-63 in the process killing 5 people aboard the b-17 and the pilot of the p-63 (there was only one) anyways I hope this helped 👍
