Between muslim scholars, there are two opinions abt who was being sacrificed. One is ishmael one is Isaac. But the wisest said that it doesnt matter who was that, most important is the lesson behind it. The Abraham a.s's lesson was abt obeying God. And The sacrifices one was his patience and acceptance towards his faith.
