I been getting budget PSUs so far and have been fine got the same one in my gf build and had aresgame psu for my old build and have dealt with plenty power outages and power surges and no fried parts or issues I feel there are horrible power supplies that you should run from but I think you can do your own research to find what’s good and don’t need to see the PSU tier list as the end all to be all for everything
|
One thing that also matters is the quality and rating, Thermaltake Smart PSUs have a bad placing in the PSU tier list and can even die taking other components with them, basically they can break and if they do they can also break your entire PC by either breaking another component or the whole thing, or even start a fire if they're really bad quality, luckily those aren't that bad, but they're still bad so don't buy them, instead get an MSI Mag ot XPG Pylon they're barely any more expensive and are actually the bare minimum recommended

It's not fine, skimping on your PSU is the worst one. Beyond the efficiency rating your power supply has safety measures to ensure your PC parts stay working. If you get a power surge or anything like that, low rated and cheap power supplies are way more likely to fry or kill components or even kill themselves. So please do your research and make sure you are buying a quality power supply. Rating does not indicate safety measures in the power supply, but usually are a good indicator of the quality!
