For my aloe, I put a dryer sheet in the pot on top of or near the soil. Havenāt had gnats since. Just make sure not to get it wet or it could start growing mold after a while.

Diatomaceous earth works too. Also dryer sheets somewhere near the pot or on top but remove when watering. It works good with fruit sitting out. Double pot you can put it done the side. Also water with. Rubbing alcohol 1/4 tsp as well as 1/2 dish soap. Not harmful to you or plant

On Amazon i bought gnat stcky traps, it is plastic and you stake it into the pot for flying gnats. Mosquito vits on the soil for eggs and larvae. And fly paper pull down traps.
I had a loy of gnats!!!
Traps filled up in a couple of days. I replaced as needed.
The life cycle is a couple of weeks, so i was diligent in replacing.
It took about 2 months to get rid of them.
The Mosquito bits, i would check to see if that is safe for feuiting plants and herbs.

iām using sand currently. has hydrogen peroxide watering worked for you?

Could you use colored aquarium gravel so it's easier to pick them out? I guess aesthetically it wouldn't look too great but still

I sprinkle on cinnamon. It worked for me.

Those freaking gnats man. Try having moss poles, ugh. I bring my vacuum with me when I water the piles and itās suck a gnat time

If it's basil in a pot, tear off some basil leaves and mix it in the soil. Idk why but it works for us.
