For instance, they may see a random person on the street. To the narcissist, maybe that person looks like a villain so they will assign the role of Villain to that person.
Everyone and everything has to play a particular role in the false narrative of the covert narcissist. They will even gaslight their family, friends and coworkers into playing along with their fantasy story. Maybe the covert pretends they're sick and weak, and they put you in the role of their care provider. Maybe they have mommy-issues so they put you in the role of their mother-figure.
