Tgose instructionals take long time and effort to actually learn. I had to take notes and dedicate lot of time for studying those. But the good thing is once you study it correctly there is solution for every problem you face when rolling. At least for one or two years. You just had to go back and reffer what went wrong

That thing happens in my boxing classes. New guys learn moves from Ryan Garcia or Mike Tyson, then make egregious errors in sparring. Video are fine to learn from when you are a seasoned veteran, but a coach who care about your safety and who teaches good fundamental principles is the most important person in a young/new fighters life

This is a great pointā€¦as a lower belt the best thing I have felt that has helped me are the YouTube shorts this channel and other posts. It has allowed me to add pointers, new moves, and concepts to my game while having the ability to rewatch a short clip over and over and over again to then drill it on the mat. All of this I can do in minutes. Time efficient and effective šŸ™

I watch all of the instructionals I can and only use stuff from them when it pops in the back of my mind. I donā€™t really work any of it in the gym because thereā€™s no time. I write a lot of stuff down and break stuff down in my own words to digest it all I think that really helps. Iā€™m also very happy listening to Danaher speak cuz heā€™s just really bright and clearly breaks every position and movement down. I say Practice and get out what you can from instructorā€™s inside the gym and bring it out of the gym to learn what the best are doing outside to bring back in.

Best policy with YouTube shorts is stay away from guys that don't have any content of them executing techniques in competition or live rolls.

Good point I make sure to take small bites and get good sleep so my brain files the info away and refer to them the next day to lock it in, your videos included, you are awesome man!

Iā€™m 10 months in jiu jitsu and I watch the damaged instructionals in YouTube every month and literally I found something new every time

The crappiest part of being a hobbyist is i want to train more but i just got a new job and it has really limited the amount i can train. Ive only been going 2x a week for the past month. I dont feel as sharp as when i was training 4-5 times a week

It just takes more practice. I havenā€™t watched these instructionals, but I can imagine not being able to digest that much knowledge of something you donā€™t yet have first hand in. High level BJJ looks like chaos to whitebelt and there is no need to rush it. - 2 stripe white belt

You're short cut off the Robbie I think that you're trying to say that they should just go over what their instructor went over for the week... Yeah that's how I progressed at first I was just study any videos or something in Jiu-Jitsu University that was just what we went over in class be at passing submissions whatever. And I love your comment and I love that you collab with one of my other favorite Jiu-Jitsu YouTubers Matt Oroyo. Great stuff my friend... Maybe one day I can come to your school and come in for a class I'm a brown belt by the way

Danaher feet to floor should be watched by all bjj guys. Most bjj " instructors " have no clue.

Well, I would like to disagree.

I believe that, the reason I suck at Bjj is because I donā€™t train Bjj at all (still unsure though)

You need to finish the video properly. I like your videos, but it's annoying when they end abruptly .

Danahar videos are long yet incredibly dense. You could easily spend a year on a single video
