the F-15J is a domestically produced F-15C, but in game its modeled as a pre-production/early F-15A. it should absolutely have a TWS function and better radar guided missiles. but the japanese air tree is pretty empty, so the snail had to give it something to fill the void

I love the F-15J, but the AAM-3 probably is better, it has 10 years on the AIM-9M, and likely builds upon the most recent sidewinder.

Tbf, the AAM-3 has a solid 10 years on the AIM-9M, and so it makes sense it would be better, that being said it got surpassed by the next gen AIM-9 in every way a few years later

To be fair the F-15J was made later then the F-15A but basically is the same stuff just language changes and weapon changes if you think about it the F-15A and all of the F-15 in the game are just different designs languages and Missiles

So sure, camos are nice and there’s nothing else to say about the AAM-3s, but I do not think the fuel load is worth considering as a positive. It’s exponentially smarter to bring a low fuel load in high tier jets along with drop tanks, allowing you to burn high and fast with the tanks then with the press of a button you ditch so much weight and become a nimble dogfighter. It’s just another one of the reasons the Eagles, Gripens, Mirages, Vipers etc preform better than Flankers; Flankers need to take more internal (non-dumpable) fuel which makes them heavier and less maneuverable if they do end up in the merge.
