Thats what i was wondering when i do my own ic piping, if i could just do my own pie cuts, and i heard about aluminum brazing rods to just put a few tacks to hold together, and then take it to a welder to have him tig that bitch up.

As for the header & pipe on the other side, they could be wrapped in a rag and squished slightly, for clearance.
make sure you add a little for the exhaust manifold gasket thickness, if you're using gaskets there.
