Solo leveling is a seasonal anime. Seasonal animes shouldnāt have filler episodes because production should be almost completely done before they even start airing. An unexpected filler episode in the middle of a season is a sign of unexpected production issues.
Edit: This is not a common problem, as the video seems to imply. Seasonal animes rarely have filler episodes. Among all of the ābig studiosā itās a problem thatās pretty much exclusive to A-1 Productions.
Off the top of my head this is the 5th time A-1 had to delay episodes in the past year or so. They had to delay lycoris recoil, 86, mashle, nier automata, and solo leveling.

I will never understand why the anime industry uses such an inefficient process. Make everything, then release it. Removes the risk of delays completely.

They skipped a week for an episode and the episode they put out the week after is a filler, bruh. And solo leveling also had Mash get delayed a week too. So technically they've already skipped 2 episodes already. The first week was because the va got sick.

Just send massage like in manhwa chapter that they will be skipping a week for poor health. We would have been more pleased with that.

Then they should delay episode 1 by a week.
I'd rather wait another week for episode 1 than for episode 8 when I'm already hooked.
Especially with Solo Leveling, which is very linear and easy to follow, we didn't need the "In case of amnesia, episode 7.5".

Why donāt they wait till the episodes are fully animated then release it weekly or finish some episodes and while they are being released work on the other episodes or will that not work?

I do hate them filler episodes. I would rather just them putting out news "we need time, thank you." Instead of just putting a .5 episodes. But I do understand that putting a blank space kills the momentum of the series.

u should really get your facts straight before posting anything like this cause the reason it had a recap episode was because the person who voiced jinwoo was sick after doing episode 4 he coughed up blood and he said he tested positive for covid again around the time they were recording

If solo leveling was a weekly anime like one piece or naruto then I'd agree but since it's broken down into seasons it doesn't get the pass for that filler episode.

People wouldn't care if they took a quick break. It's just the fact they put a recap episode out after like 7 episodes, which is pointless. Just put some more work into the next episodes and say "Hey, we're skipping a week because the VA's voice is non-existant right now."
