The still-present hammer and sickle in Aeroflot's logo I can somewhat understand. The Soviet Union, Russian SFR in particular, took great pride in the airline, and as the Russian Federation is considered to be the legal successor state of the Russian SFR, it makes a warped kind of sense that they kept the logo as-is.
