The best Tape For Painting Crisp Straight Lines is Yellow Frog Tape.
Yellow Frog Tape is for delicate surfaces and will not peel the paint.
I used caulk to seal the edge.
You have to pull the tape off within 3 minutes of caulking so that the caulk won't dry and peel the paint.

I was doing that like 20 years ago, when I use to paint a lot,I keep a damp rag regardless,it makes it easier for the tape to pill of the drywall, and when the caulk dries, the damp tape, want break the seam of the caulk.

How much time should you let the paint dry before removing the tape

I started painting a year ago, I chaulk after I’m done painting and cutting in. Btw: I do my friend, family’s homes. Idk it looks good the way I do it. But this way seems a lot better. Gonna be doing this for now!

I always do this! The best way!!

This is the only correct way to do it. A micro thin layer of caulking keeps the paint from bleeding under the tape. Caulking afterwards is for hacks.

Surprised there aren’t more people bashing someone that uses tape effectively.

I have a question that's probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway. Could I do this the opposite way when painting a wall?

do you paint over it whilst caulk is still wet?

Should try the Masking Master as a tool, a game changer!

You can also seal the tape edge down with the wall paint. It actually gives a bit cleaner of a look. Less chance of peeling and having a ridge that can cast a tiny shadow.
