I own an Epiphone les paul in honey burst 59 and i love playing it i also own 4 harley benton les Paul's to im not a fusdy customer i enjoy any make of guitar whether it be a les Paul or a stratocaster appreciate what you have not want you want

I just purchased the NEW 59 w/ the NEW headstock, along with the SG, 355, and the LP Custom. I've been a geetar player for 45+ years and own over 100 guitars in my collection, none under $1500 except for several of PRS SE's. These are the very first "inexpensive" guitars I've ever purchased and seem to play and sound pretty good. They're not Gibson's and I wouldn't place them in the same category. They're just their own thing....

In person, I found I don't really care for their matte type finish, but I'm sure one of my three daughters will take them from me at some point...
How do I have over a hundred nice guitars?
I've been collecting since 12yrs old and was considered a prodigy of sorts at my young age because I could play anything, and played out with much older cats than I, but I was never a full time touring guy. I'm an electrician by trade of 40yrs and now retired.
I buy what plays and sounds good. ✌🏼

Can't decide between this or a standard. And then do I want a 50s or 60s. Not a shredder so I think im leaning towards 50.

The Epiphone sounds and plays great, but the look of the finish and the fretboard material are clear differences. The sunbursting looks terrible compared to a 59 Gibson re-issue, and the finish just looks like a satin clear regardless of what they call it. I can't understand why they would go to pretty great lengths to recreate this and miss so badly on the finish and fretboard material. I mean, I am not expecting a nitro coating, but at least do a good job on the sunbursting and put a gloss clear on it. The finish looks cheap and Indian Laurel on the fretboard?

Pre-Gibson Epiphone's had a great sound... and they never got it back after the merger.

Your probably one of the few that complained about superb quality of the Epiphone. Your obviously not a guitarist

1 words for you. Epiphone is low price guitars, and Gibson is expensive guitars price. Gibson and epiphone in 1 company brand but they are in diferent caste. You cann't compare them
