It is completely insane that this is cheaper. I have old plywood from remodels I should list for sale.

It’s absolutely crazy that it’s cheaper to use 1x material as opposed to plywood.

Smart. I have thought about using 5/4 decking for this.

The long term maintenance costs still seem higher than a manufactured shed that doesn't use wooden materials. You can pressure wash the inside of a plastic shed without concern for mold on the wood. Sure they may look worse but that's what decorations and plants are for. You could pant them too.

We're all being gouged by the cost of plywood these days, it is criminal... that was smart thinking to use planks instead, and it's much stronger and more sturdy anyway

Looks like it needs tie downs. Big storms in my part of the country. Very nice job.

The fact that 2x6s are more cost effective than ply makes me think that materials aren’t priced by production cost but strategically by use. I guess that’s capitalism, but it’s just weird. My only concern is drying and gapping. Bugs getting in easier. Maybe cut some laps in the 2xs or spline them to solve that issue (if it would be an issue for anyone else but me).

Cheaper than a concrete pad? I’d go concrete even if it cost a little more… can’t beat a smooth, hard concrete floor IMO, cheers
