The verse which prohibites moabites in the assembly is problematic, Ruth and all her children should have never been part of Israel. Of course apologists try to explain that away by saying the verse only refers to male moabites. But that's not what the verse says:

David was king of Judah not Israel. And it’s no surprise that David would erect an altar to a god other than Yahu because he was a polytheist and worshipped all the gods of Canaan.
Same with Solomon. There was no such thing as what we know as Judaism until 3rd/4th century BCE.
