I think it depends on how we use it. I have friends and family in different states and countries. It would be tough to stay in touch so closely without social media. You even got a phone option! Some platforms are better than others (filters, groups, pages). We can and should teach our kids how to best leverage the tools that are available and explain the pros & cons. The rest is up to them. Pretty much like with everything else in life. I agree that itās easy to get sucked into the scrolling mechanism, but then again as believers weāre used to discipline and just need to apply it to one more aspect in our lives. Shouldnāt say ājustā because there are times when itās the devil šš.

Many good things in screen time. Very convenient too. Good people watch good things. But first develop being good.

We can listen to the long form discussions on radio or MP3 - don't need to watch videos to enjoy them :)

I actually have cut down on watching and listening. I won't post videos without proper instructions or I if I am asked to post by people in my community for community service and helping with special projects. Cutting myself down from scrolling for no reason, or watching TV for no reason is good. Thanks Bishop Barron.

I am putting screen time limits on any app that keeps me distracted. I really need to put one for YT. Itās been my biggest distraction but Iām proud to say itās the only app I really use nowadays. Bad news is, my screen time is still abysmal and embarrassing. Iām working on it, Father!

I donāt believe that. About the screen time and depression. Since I was sidelined by a stroke in August, I have use the Internet to find more prayersā¦ And listen to Bishop Barronā¦ than I would have before. It is what you give itā¦ If you let it depress you, youāll be depressed. Whoās in charge? I have spent more time with the Lord on the Internetā¦ Because I canāt leave the house to go to mass. Iām able to catch as many masses as I can during the day and am able to listen to as many homilies as there are out there. You and the Lord have to be in charge of your own mind. God bless..
