Saint Germain was based on the real person Count de Saint-Germain, very fascinating man, shrouded in mystery. I love how they managed to transfer the vibe of his character to the show

I think she was real, I think she lit a fire in the soul of a man that had almost lost his spark, and for a far to brief but wondrous time she made him dream again. And then she disappeared and he spent the rest of his life chasing the memory, trying to find that dream again.
I think what we see is how he remembers her, she's otherworldly, beautiful, capable and they are in love. When he offers her the journey she doesn't speak because he no longer remembers her voice. What we see is a mirage, the last bit of hope he is clinging to. The only dream he has left is... Her. But the spark he is trying to rekindle has long since gone cold. She is gone and only death waits for him.

Given what he's been through as evidence of becoming delusional, her lack of dialogue may be him falsely remembering events, she did not have the same feelings for him that he had for her.

The fact that the love interest never had dialogue or even a name throughout the whole show is surprisingly good storytelling. One one hand, he could be falsely remembering the events because its been so long, he doesn't actually remember her reactions to any of the events leading to their separation. On the other hand, its almost symbolism, like he's chasing a fantasy throughout the whole show.

Castlevania truly grabbed my heart with Saint Germain, Dracula, hector and lenore, Isaac. Trevor at the End had me fearing the worst...tragedy hits so close to home in castlevania. It´s truly a masterpiece. I´m thankful for the love and dedication that went into it. It will forever be edged into my memory and I´ll have my children watch it someday, when they´re old enough and interested.
