I think one problem people have in general with Christian faith is how to reconcile the teachings and traditions of man based on scripture and the understanding of scripture itself from an individual point of view lead by the Holy Spirit giving discernment.
Everyoneās walk is different. Claiming that our Father in Heaven is real because of your own personal encounter and experience is just as fair as claiming He isnāt real because of your own personal experiences.
What seems more important than holding a debate and discourse about who is right or who is explaining things more honestly is to inspire others to seek our Father and pursue a course of action or live a life that brings you to your salvation on your own. How we do that is objectively different for everyone.
I like some of what some people teach and I try to approach and understand everyoneās perspective to the best of my ability. However, it isnāt profitable to bother with which Internet personality is more correct or accurate in their statements or teachings for me as long as I hold fast to that which is true and pray for the spirit of discernment to guide me along the way.
These are my opinions and beliefs and Iām glad to share them publicly but I do not require for a moment that anyone accept them or replace their own convictions with mine.
Thanks for reading ā¤ļø

No right off the bat the first thing you said is false. If someone goes looking for gold and says they found gold, but you went looking for gold and didn't find any gold, that doesn't give you the right to conclude that there is no such thing as gold.
So, that's the first thing you said in the first thing you said was wrong and probably everything else too.

Waitā¦but Mike literally said why would he take someoneās personal experience for proof that God doesnāt existā¦which would mean in return that there wouldnāt be any reason to take someoneās experience to prove the ladder. He was literally making your point and would agree with it. So yes, you are missing something..and that something is what Mike never said lol

When you ask "am I missing something" the answer is yes. You are missing the conviction that God IS real, no question about it, and no matter what you must rationalize all the inconsistencies.
You don't come to the argument presupposing the existence of God so you don't feel the need to make sense of the nonsense. I'm sure you're familiar with the feeling from when you did believe, but now you aren't forced to fit everything within the narrative of the Bible. You're (relatively) unburdened from biased thinking and thus you can see the arguments and mental gymnastics for what they are.
The only way someone could agree with Mike's argument is if they're christian, if they would've agreed with any rationalization because it fits in their current worldview.

There is a huge difference between personal experience and historically backed testimonial documents. If I say that God visited me in my room yesterday, you'd have no reason to believe me, since there is absolutely no evidence to back up my claim. However, even the most critical scholars will admit that the gospels are on some level historically reliable. The testimony of the gospels is backed by independent historical sources outside the Bible, not to mention the fact that the apostles stood nothing to gain from their testimony apart from persecution and death, much different from somebody like Joseph Smith who claimed to be visited by God with zero witnesses and used that testimony for personal gain.

Winger loves to ballet dance around topics and heās also big with Pascals Wagerā¦he has as much sense as a box of rocks.
PineCreek Doug has a field day with Winger and can easily get him trapped using thought experiments to the point where Winger doesnāt have an answer and just comes off the wall with some ludicrous nonsense and shoots himself in the foot š¤£ā¦Yep Winger is really dishonest and I think he knows it. If he got openly honest it would be financial suicide! Doug is the master with thought experiments and mops the floor with these Winger type people every time. Kudos to PineCreek Doug! šš»šš»šš»šš»
Thanks
