If anyone cares. The reason why Y2K was a thing because... back then, computers couldn't store as much information. Built into the motherboards was a clock, and to save data, they made the computers with the clock only able to change the last 2 digits of a date like 1999, which would have become 1900 instead of 2000. Businesses and individuals were given an update to fix the problem well in time for 2000.
