If you p it the zip tie on inside out so the locking slide doesn’t slide over the ridges of the tie but rather the smooth side you can achieve the same effect and not waste a perfectly good zip tie.

I don't use the Zip tie method BUT it did teach me to correctly position my fingers in order to slip on the ferrule... Thanx Slim Shady
