I started with a makita impact and hammer drill and just built off of that platform. Ive never had any of their tools stop on me and they typically offer good deals around christmas every year. I definitely am a makita fan boy though.

Festool is a brand for cabinet making or making desk tops. Wide range of tools will be all TTI brands (Milwaukee,Ryobi, Ridgid), DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Hitachi/Metabo or your local hardware store brands.

Even if I could afford festool, I wouldn't buy them.

Ryobi and Milwaukee are my brands, for different use cases, power needs, value etc. I have Milwaukee impact and drill, but I have a Ryobi rotary hammer. I also have a Ryobi vacuum 😂

I think you should try out the Dewalt DCD1007 with the 8AH Powerpack and the Dewalt DCF860 and DCF870.

Harbor freight is really stepping up the game for a great price that beats all the name brands in their Hercules and Bauer lines. Some really great buys for the money and got money left for materials to make just as good of build as the “best” brands. It’s about the craftsman note the tool. Look at the fantastic woodworking and furniture building of the 1700’s and 1800’s and they didn’t have any of these best tools. In my opinion festool is really nice tools but way overpriced for what you’re really getting. You just don’t need a $700 plus track saw to break down plywood at $100 to $150 you can get a Wen track saw and guess what it will break down that sheet of plywood just as good.oh and by the way Festool totally cheaps out on many internal parts like bearings. Don’t believe me look up the YouTube channel where the guy tears down power tools a talks about build quality and man oh man did he trash the bearings used in the Festool trac saws. Way cheap stuff. Buy the best for your budget and taste but being a brand snob is just stupid and a waste of money.

The best tool for anyone to use in the trades, you're using it for your livelihood, is the battery platform you already have. Don't go mixing brands, you'll have a headache charging batteries all the time.
