My home was built in 1890 and I refinished the original Douglas fir flooring. There are no bevels. There aren’t supposed to be. Anyone trying to sell you engineered or refinished hardwood foooring will tell you the bevels are good but they aren’t. It’s snake oil 1. They collect dust, dirt, lint, and all manner of other things. I hope you hire cleaners. 2. The finished surface isn’t continuous and can be more susceptible to water intrusion. 3. When it’s time to refinish your floors it’s three times the work and usually easier to remove and replace. Real hardwood floors should be flat, square and of varying lengths.
