I have this washing machine.
It's a workhorse. It lives on the back porch. It works in subzero temps because I modified it... the solenoid valve is indoors and the plumbing was changed to PEX tubing which fits over the original hardware where the old hose went. Now we can use it until the pipes freeze solid... but wr have heat tape and pipe insulation to help until it gets too cold for even that. There is a risk to freezing your washer... don't do it. I did and it has worked for several years though. Again... the washer's solenoid is indoors.

Dude! I'm always impressed on your broad understanding of multiple different trades and mechanical fixes. Good stuff.

Greag seeing this washer not ending up in a scrap pile. As overwhelming inflation takes its toll i have a feeling your going to be very busy ❤

OMG I instantly recognized this washing machine as my mom had one of these for nearly 30 years. It's an old early 1990s KitchenAid washer. That thing was a beast and completely mechanical with no circuit boards at all. Unfortunately she got rid of it last year when the clutch completely rusted out.

IMHO the old appliances are much better quality and much easier to repair.

I know you have collected a lot of spare parts over the years from stripping down old appliances. However for some in videos like this where are you typically ordering from? Do you have a specific vendor? Thanks!

Glad to see it not being thrown away. Would be curious to know how many hours you put into the repair.
