We Turks also don’t whistle at night because you invite / call the evil spirits if you do.
& we don’t cut our nails when it’s dark because it may shorten your lifespan.
We also don’t chew gum when it’s late at night because then you are chewing on the bones of your deceased family members (???)
There are many more superstitions but these are the only ones I can come up with rn🤭

in Hawaii, you gotta watch out for the Night Marchers; you need to lay low (and maybe naked) on the ground; (Oahu) when you go on the (Nuuanu) Pali Highway, from the Windward (Kaneohe, Kailua) to the Leeward (Moanalua, Salt Lake, Pearl City, Aiea) side = throw out the pork... Chicken Skin (campfire) ghost stories based on real Hawai'ian mythological figures... (there was a book series by historian Glenn Grant either called "Chicken Skin" or "Obake: Ghost Stories of Hawaii" (a Japanese word for "ghost") like a man who let an elderly lady, who he saw, stood in the middle of the road. he picked her up and she sat n the back of his car. Later on, when the man glanced at the back seat -- the elderly woman had suddenly disappeared !

In ireland, we consider opening an umbrella indoors to bring very bad luck. I dont think its an asian superstition. We also have a superstion against magpies. A single magpie brings bad luck so always look out for the second. The verse goes , 1 for sorrow, 2 for joy, 3 for a girl, 4 for a boy, six for silver, seven for gold, eight for a se ret never to be told. And while definitely not an irish superstition, we also touch wood right after saying something unlucky about ourselves or other people.

Umbrella is a common superstition like walking under a ladder. Even all the way over here in the Netherlands 👻
