I had the party of my life at uni whilst trades people are stuck in their boring home town

I am the other people, 38 now, work fewer hours, make more money and now I am having the time of my life, I'll be retired at 50.
I also built my own extension and did all my own work at the house as I enjoy that sort of thing.
You trades people will need to work till you drop and your bodies will be fucked, so its good you got your partying done young.

Up until the housing crash in Ireland it was like that movie the wolf of wallstreet. Sorry i actually meant to say recounting it was very like the documentary " cocaine cowboys" .
Then builders here got burnout trying to repay all the debt only to be replaced by young Brazilians who came from harsh conditions, poverty etc and were delighted to work for 50 euros a day. The greedy elites wanted to keep building costs low and because builders were uneducated they don't even understand to this day how bad they got shafted. The people who went to university had the last laugh. Even a 40year old carpenter i know went back to school and became a chartered accountant as he couldn't have supported his sick wife and her medical bills braking his back in terrible conditions.
Imagine getting 3 grand a week for a fun job with people begging to work for you ........then going to working for 300 a week and begging people to work with you .....cos social welfare is only 100euro less but you can easily make that up by working a few handy jobs.
Total catastrophe not having qualifications imo. Make sure you're well insured for when your body isn't as young as it was .
You'd want to be winding down with a few houses rented for passive income by the age of 40 cos every year after that gets tougher.

I’m a school dropout, never finished more than 11 years. Yet I’m enjoying life to its fullest and i am a bricklayer. Thanks to connections with people, I don’t need expensive education. Just a few beers
