As a mom, thank you. Sometimes it’s easy to forget there are people that aren’t judging us and understand!

I never judge mommies who are going through it, every mom has encountered a melt down in public at some point. It’s normal. I used to tell my daughter if you’re going to cry like this we are going to go home (she wanted to come with me to the stores all the time) and I would proceed to start walking towards the exit, she would scream louder and say nooo and I would proceed to tell her then you need to calm down, you look crazy and people are going to stare because you’re screaming on the top of your lungs. She would look around and slowly start calming down. I just explained to her in the best way I could that we don’t act like that, especially in public lol. And yes, there were times we had to leave because she wouldn’t calm down and it taught her to behave or else we would leave.

I will never understand Karens sitting alone in Costco and judging everybody left and right

I’m child free by choice, but I still understand that kids cry! Sometimes I wish I could openly cry in a public place when feelings are too much! Emotions happen no matter your age and people need to chill

It's not like parents are bringing their child to Costco specifically to cause a scene 😮‍💨 they're not TRYING to annoy people. A child could be quiet 99% of the time and just have a random tantrum in the middle of the store, but all people remember is the 1% and judge parents for it. I know it's upsetting to listen to a baby cry, especially if it's for a long time, but have some compassion, people! Even the most perfect parent can't predict when their child is going to have a tantrum. What are they supposed to do, keep the baby at home until they turn 18 for fear of a public outburst? That'll just create an even more messed up ki

Who goes to Costco to just sit around and relax? That right there should tell you she's not in her right mind. I'd love to bring my toddler to the bathroom while she's in there 😂. My daughter loves to narrate what everyone is does, "she's pottying and now she's wiping ...

I'm never mad when children cry OR misbehave in public, it happens. Unless I am in a movie theater.... to the lady out there who let her four kids play with a nerf football at the showing of Renfield...mother to mother....WTF?😅

Public is the key word there…she doesn’t own the damn place! If she doesn’t want to hear kids then she should be the one staying home.

Every time I went shopping and I had my daughter she was a pleasure. She was very easy, but when I had my son, he jumped out of the carriage run between the isles of clothes and drove me absolutely insane so yes, when I went shopping if possible, I would always get someone to watch him, if not, I took him with me that way he got plenty of discipline that many people did not agree with but that’s just too bad

Makes me feel sorry for her children. What kind of unrealistic expectations does she put on them. Sad

And what if you don’t have another parent to watch your kid at home?

If you wanna avoid families go when the store opens….its that simple.

No. The overstimulation you get from the screaming of the child you chose to have is your own business. I shouldn't have to blast music so loud I can't hear anything just to go shopping. I'm not disturbing anyone, but I have to plan my life around people who refuse to use curbside pickup when their kid isn't in the mood to be around humans.

Multiple thoughts. First, yes not everyone is the luxury of going to the store alone. So bringing kids is sometimes a must. Second, prepare as a parent so that when you take your children somewhere they are rested and fed. This will go a long way to keeping them pleasant. Third, begin as you intend to continue. Do not allow your children to pitch fits or scream or whine at you at home. Redirect them, give them attention outside of crying and whining so you don’t reinforce it, and have clear and age appropriate behavior expectations. Finally, understand your child’s limits. A 20-30 min store trip for an older child is doable. Hours of time spent in stores is not appropriate to expect that same child to sit through without misbehavior. ❤

I have two kids on the autism spectrum and they used to freak out whenever they heard kids cry. They are much better about it now that I’ve talked with them about it so often, but they would say ridiculous things like “why can’t the parents be in control of their children?! Or they shouldn’t be in public with a baby crying that hard” I just gently remind them they used to scream and poo their pants in public lol now it’s that baby’s turn 😂 kindness and tolerance should be normal, but I think internet culture often makes people assume the worst about other

How do kids learn to behave in public if you don’t take them out and teach them.

I have no doubt that is that parent had a choice to shop alone that definitely would have not brought the baby. I just don’t understand people with intolerance to children?!?
