Connect head voice to chest voice to achieve mixed voice #shorts

So you've built a chest voice, built a head voice, can sing some head voice stuff like Judas Priest and King Diamond, and you're wondering what's your next step to reach your desired "mixed voice"?

Well, my path took me to building the connection between the registers and figuring out how placement shifts gradually around my breaks.

Understanding placement and what shifting the second formant / harmonic actually feels like was crucial to finally get vowel modifications and how to apply it, which for me was the major key to unlock mixed voice

In this video I share a little exercise and trick that clicked with me for all of this subject, made me understand how the placement should move and look for it when singing in full voice

maybe that can help you too! let me know in the comments

Thank you for the video a lot! It seems like the French OO resonance is the key to switch between head and chest *without losing the volume*. Because I can slide between head and chest by adding the air/lowering the volume. Lifting the gas pedal as Chris Liepe said. But I can see a lot of examples of chest-head slide without lowering the volume at the bridge area.
And if I got the idea right, the key is the resonance/placement which the French OO helps to find. Not the French OO itself. I mean for the rest vowels I need to find their modified versions which resonates in the same way instead of using the French OO for every vowel 😆

Great instructions and very well explained! But diving right into channeling Rob Halford makes me very curious about what other videos you got! Best video of the day so far, AMAZING!!! 👏👏

Nice video again Leio, i feel like i understand this more and more everyday. Anyway, can you create another video, on the OO when you add the air and in that same spot, can you give me an excercise, maybe a song line i can practice and that in mode? So thats the FRENCH oo if im not mistaken? Is that where the mix should feel?

I have seen many videos/methods how to "connect head and chest" voice. But I still do not absolutely understand what to do. My voice just yodels and breaks - high OO breaks to low OO . What is the true key to do it properly? Is it just training and trying to do it 100000 times? Or it is vowel modification? Or is it just very low "volume"? Or is it something like vocal tract shaping? Or some magic fingering to vocal muscles like in Bohemian videos
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kITTlo18Bw&t=1s
? Or what? It is obviouly very hard (or impossible) to explait it. If you can do it it simply cannot be explained to someone who cannot do it. I am pretty desperate of it.

I am able to connect them but the area where it is neither head voice not chest voice in my passagio I struggle with making it louder without switching to pure chest. How can I sing loudly in my passagio without flipping to a strong chest and straining?

Does the yawning sound would help with this one?

Need help..... I'm probably a baritone however I trained my head voice for months to sing a note like C6 without strain (and succeeded) but now I want to strengthen my chest voice and I'm stuck on F4, and for some reasons I feel vibrations in my chest even though I sing in head voice. (I am also not confident that I have a grasp of my mixed voice).
