I remember watching let's play of the first Last of Us back in the day. But I have yet to watch this episode yet. Curious though, I wasn't aware until your short that it was a live action series now.

It’s good. I like how they switched up some stuff. It’s more fun. It has some stuff for the people who played the games and stuff for people who never played the last of us.

episode 3 was the worst. Im not talking about the couple they showed, It's the facted how they pulled it off.
First off, the whole episode is only the couple and has no connection through joel besides the simple 5-minute scene.
They should've shown more of Joels' and Bills' relationship on how it fell apart. Also, I think they should've kept franks death separate.
The town they lived in the show was stupid, the small city like town bill took over and kept high maintenance from game was way better and made him more of a badass.
They also cut out the entire school segment all because they wanted to focus the entire episode on Bill and Franks lovey dovey relationship. They should have made half of the episode dealing with joel meeting back up with Bill fighting out their differences, AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON WHOSE CHOICE IT WAS THINKING IT WOULD BE GREAT TO CUT OUT ELLIES AND BILLS INTERACTIONS!!!! AND THEY SHOULD'VE KEPT IN THE SCHOOL PART IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE MOMENT!!!
and while this is happening maybe there's moments that cause Bill to think of Frank bring up these flashbacks through out the episode to help build up Bills character on how he turned out this way.
And they could've made Bills death happen in the school, maybe having it where he sacrifices himself to save joel and ellie so they can get away.
Or they could done it where they make it back with the car battery, and joel and ellie leave saying goodbye, and Bill hanging himself next to his lover to join him in the afterlife.
BUT NOOOOOO THEY MADE THE ENTIRE EPISODE AROUND BILL AND HIS LOVER, BECAUSE HAVING A GREAT BALENCED EPISODE ISN'T G@Y ENOUGH!!!

I read an interview with Neil druckmann where he said that the changes in the story were meant to help it transition to the tv format better, placing more emphasis on backstory and character interaction rather than combat and puzzles. Since only the first episode is out I don’t know how that’s going to shape the overall story differently but it seems like he knows what he’s doing.
