he def cares about ichigo wether its consciously or subconsciously he would never allow ichigos life to be taken away and he probably literally does see himself as ichigos father grooming him to what he is and directly being responsible for 1/3rd of ichigos actual spiritual genetics that being hollow White who was a hollow made from soul reapers (and possibly more than likely aizen's own dna) . theres also the dynamic of being born exceptionally more naturally gifted than any other being in bleach both are kindred spirits representing parallels and opposites at the same time

Aizen stated it himself i dont remember the exact line but it goes like didnt you wonder why you enemies got progressively stronger to match your level. This was because wanted his hybrid project to grow strong enough to be a test subject for his strength after merging with the hogyoku(also he was tired of being the only anamolly)

FACT: Aizen did not kill him because like aizen said that he planned everything for ichigo. He needed ichigo strong enough to were he could fight him and awaken the fragment thingy to then kill squad 0. But as we know it failed...

I think itâs part obsession, pride, possessiveness in the sense that he created ichigo and he is his property or another one of his lifeâs work. also respect in that ichigo is a worthy adversary and the only person he could really relate to in a way or thatâs how I think he saw him. Or maybe ichigo a his favourite toy that no one else can play with or touch. Also kinda like when he asked Gin in a calm but confrontational tone âGin, what were you going to do to himâ as in âwatch yourselfâ. But thatâs just my taken on things đ
