This our setup when cutting crown molding on the flat. It enables us to leave the saws stationary so after a test setup cut we have the same cut every time and no need to worry about being off by a couple of points on degree. Cutting flat also allows you to have the molding facing you how it would go up on the wall which makes it easier to visualize your cuts. Nested crown is always cut upside down and backwards which can be confusing after you walk over to the saw. Less mistakes saves you in time and material.
