I made the mistake of signing in blue ink instead of black ink. I had to redo the whole thing, but I signed outside the designated box buy just a few millimeters. And so I had to sign and submit the form yet again!

I love these Emily in Paris vs Reality sketches! Really showcases how naive and silly main characters would be in real world. Please do more of these, they are great 😂

Just a good advice for native English speakers wherever they go really: it's ok to speak English (it's the unofficial international language) but SPEAK CLEAR AND SLOWLY! 👏
It may sound patronizing to speak slowly, but to non natives slow and clear speech is preferable and we appreciate it

Italian bureaucracy is actually worse. You have to go and get a ticket to make an appointment three weeks later. At the appointment, you explain your situation and then they make you an appointment at a different office more than a month later, and while waiting for that appointment, you have to go to another office again to request documents that they will mail to you. The process for anything simple is about three months.

Gotta say, the office worker speaking Franglais made me feel like my 10+ years of trying to learn French are finally paying off

When Roya is playing the French part, does anybody think she barely knows English? She even looks born French. I am so impressed.

Oh, the "it took me weeks to get this appointment and itll take you 5 seconds to help" hit WAY way too close for the chicago Spanish consulate. From what ive seen, most people fail on their first try, and must come back in person, multiple times. I remember the college kid who from Omaha that flew in with his parents. I My whole day off work and 4 hours round trip, was nothing comparatively.
I think since covid theyve discovered the amazing world of mail.
But yeah, it sucks.
Also, the "oh merde. English" face is just too good. I have both given and received that look of panic and determination.

So complete side note, the way you speak French is very soothing and I can understand a lot of it. Makes me want to try to learn it again.

😂This is SOOO accurate. My daughter filled out a form but something was wrong so they sent it back. She corrected that, but something else was wrong on the same application so they sent it back. Back and forth it went. I think this went on for months. She finally got an answer, sort of, after she had left France.

Bureaucrats are a species of their own, with a habitat that spans the entire globe. Local subspecies have slight differences, but the main characteristics are the same.
