FOUR YEARS! Where does the time go?

I’m about to get a little vulnerable here so stay for the party for minute. River and Oak was born for a handful of reasons. In 2019 I was recently separated. Wondering how I could channel my emotions in to something productive. After realizing that all my furniture reminded me of a life I was never going to get back - I started to paint it all.

All at the same time I was battling a significant life style change due to not having a second income to live my life. In that moment I paused. I realized if I could turn my passion of flipping furniture in to an income that was all mine that I could live the life I’ve always wanted to live.

I’m threw my ENTIRE being in to building R&O at this moment. It was all consuming in the best ways possible. The nights were sleepless - not due to stress but because my creative juices were flowing. And that feeling made me feel alive again. Not everyone in my life agreed with quitting my full time job with a pension to follow my “hobby” but today none of that matters.

River and Oak Living goes beyond sustainability, a small shop and an income. It is my safe place. My therapy. My grounding.

So to every single one of you who believed in it, have supported it, purchased something to help pay the bills - I APPRECIATE YOU! 🤍

It’s not always easy but damn is it worth it.
