It is terribly unjust that earned income is taxed at the highest rate.

If they can just "poof" money into existence, why do I have to pay taxes?

Highest tax you pay is social security, not federal or state and yet SS is running out.

The best way to fix the tax system is to abolish all existing taxes on all levels of government. Federal, state, and local taxes completely eliminated. Then replace them with a flat sales tax. Divided up amongst the levels of government. That way, now matter how you make your money, no matter how much you make, we all pay the same percentage. Plus, it would eliminate the need for tax filing and the vast majority of the IRS.

You can't lower federal income taxes without drastically shrinking this enormous bloated federal govt. But no democrat or republican has shown any willingness to do that.

I think part of the problem (pun intended) is that income tax is taken out of your paycheck automatically. Most people have no idea how much they are paying a week. Imagine if you had to write out a check to the government for a couple hundred dollars a week. Abolishing income tax would be the number one issue.

Federal income taxes should rise and fall daily as the federal budget rises and falls. If Congress approves a bill to spend more money, then that money should be taken from the citizens immediately. We should not be able to defer the pain of bigger government. Conversely, if Congress saves money by cutting a federal program or programs, then that money should be returned to the citizens immediately. We should be able to experience the pleasure of diminished government.

Those rich people pay the highest amount of taxes . The difference is the got write offs and manage to turn income tax into capital gains tax at a lower rate . If your jealous, start a company and join those who took the risk .

There should be no federal business (corporate) tax. Corporations should not be allowed to give money or services to anyone or anything other than their shareholders and creditors. This prohibition includes charities, NGOs, politicians, and political parties.

Corporations are not people. They don't vote in federal elections.

Yea they tried that in Kansas and they went from a budget surplus to a deficit of 500 million. Couldn’t even pay the police and firemen 😂. The republicans had to raise taxes lo

So don't increase taxes for the upper class, reduce the taxes for the lower?

Wouldn't that have the same effect as increasing the taxes for the rich then consecutively decreasing taxes for all?

Your idea seems to work since the upper class have loopholes to retain wealth. I agree.

They would naturally be reduced if they changed the system to stop allowing massive corporations to right off their range rovers as buisness expenses

I think large corporations should pay much higher corporate taxes than they currently do.
