I have had several of those boyfriends and let me tell you it’s hilarious, pathetic, and a nightmare all together how insecure these dudes can be. Like who gaf who is smarter? Everyone is smart in their own way. This is also one of the reasons I stopped seeing men. I don’t have time to be with someone that’s gonna be competing with me when I’m clearly not trying to do that, but for some strange reason the men are always creating a competitive environment between me and them, and it’s annoying and uncomfortable because I’m never trying to out do them on topics or anything, it’s always them doing that and when they get something right that I pretend to not know they start gloating and I’m just like wow. The fact that he left you because you were smarter than him is just dumb. So he would prefer a girl he is smarter than so he can feel superior while putting her down for not knowing as much as he does. That alone shows how much she lacks intelligence because why would you want to hang out with somebody that knows less than you, instead of people that no more than you? You can’t learn anything from being around people like that.🤦🏽♀️ He has a fragile ego and he is way too competitive in relationships because plus he is competing with the wrong person. The crazy thing is this happens more often than you think, a lot of women dumb themselves down around their partners, so they don’t feel bad and it’s ridiculous that we have to do that, I have done that before. As long as you’re not winning in public or correcting him in public in front of others, or all that other stuff, what’s with the competitiveness? Another thing people who overestimate their intelligence seem to always be slower than most. (The Dunning-Kruger effect)
