No issue either, always keep my battery powered to 80% max for better battery life over years. Even a winter time.

That’s what it shows on the screen, but actually start Driving in that weather & then see how accurate it is

What I'd really like to see is battery drain on a 5+ year old Tesla in really cold weather (-30°C) when the car is parked for a few days to a week. Especially when the charge is already low, say 20% or so. My biggest concern with buying an electric car is battery longevity and long term performance in really cold or hot climates.

At -20 degree. Tesla Battery go down very fast on highway drive the moment you try goes on passing lanes. This is from personal experience Just stick to 60 miles speed

It’s a lot to do with the ac settings if you put your air conditioner on auto it’s going to use a butt tonn of power /// I own a Tesla m3p and if really blew my mind when I put my ac to auto in this heat it was a extra 80 watts a mile for 80 miles maybe

Start it up and see how fast your range goes down

That certainly doesn't look like -20c It looks like maybe near freezing with some mild flurries. -20 has a certain look, the grass is certainly not that green and the parking lot will have some snowbanks around the edges from weeks of freezing weather(it doesn't get to -20 in one day lol) and certainly be caked with salt or sand. Too clean... I call bs, sorry.

Long term wise cold weather is better for the battery lifespan than hot weather. There’s been studies.

Long as extras are turned off like heating it will be fine. Sometimes I have drain in Florida. But sometimes I don’t. It’s a mystery.

There is certainly a loss of range in an EV in cold weather. But a little loss of range is nothing like a frozen gas line, or forgetting to plugin the block heater. I can't get my engine to turn over, oh no, now the battery went dead. I sure love ICE cars. Maybe that's why they're call ICE. I lived in Minot, I know the drill.

You could’ve just checked on your phone without actually going to the car 😂

You cannot objectively test winter issues using the vehicle's own gauge. The biggest problem with LiFePo battery in below freezing temperatures is you can destroy or damage the battery if you don't heat it above freezing before charging. This will result in much slower charging. Also unless their software is open source we can't confirm the gauge is accurate in regards to its charge capacity. If he returned to his vehicle and it was showing significant reduced charges it could be a public relations issue. Let it sit long enough and it would need to disclose the actual losses, but in this case I don't believe it's showing an honest reading.

Cold keeps the charge for longer
