I think the Blackfly is technically impressive, but I suspect things like the Jetoptera design will outdo it in the long run. One element of several of these "EVTOLS for the masses" that bothers me is the exposed propellors. I frankly can't see that as being thought safe for general uses in the way that cars are. Ducted fans and fluidic propulsors are the way to go IMHO.

Vtol is so power hungry it will drain any sizeable battery in a few minutes. Payload is also almost nil. The only suitable application for battery powered flight is in sailplane flying where the required power to sustain flight is very low.

i don't feel comfortable with that thing lading vertically instead of horizontally in almost all the flights.
As a hang glider pilot, i would like to see my landing sites properly.

Impressive.. but This is just another vehicle that (MOST) humans don't need. Think of all the Irresponsible people\stunts will use this for. Yeah.. we're learning to live like the "jetsons".. but that thing NEEDS alot of sensors to keep it and others around it safe. Too many exposed parts on it as well.. DANGER!

I think people are a little unfair towards any electric aircraft. Energy density of batteries is still nowhere near fossil fuels, and until a major breakthrough happens, you have to look at electric platforms on their actual merits and not penalize them for not having the power+fuel to weight ratio that combustion powered craft possess.
