this is the most stupid argument I've ever heard. Russia hooligans did attack people in the street at the world cup, they attacked random's in the crowd at the game.
The british youth and older that know mma, are using their mma to fight in the ring.
So training mma to fight random untrained people at a match is not ok, never has been, never will be. Tell your eastern european buds to go in the ring and fight people who train to fight.

Football hooligans in England created a culture surrounding football, football culture is going to the pub, drinking and watching your team, alongside that you had firms who were die hard fans who wanted a purpose, so it spilled over Into fighting, I can tell you not all hooligans are fat and not many glass 18 year olds, Russians and eastern Europeans are organising fights and using MMA rules / fighting in a open area, there trying to create a culture, but I can tell you they won't make films about it or will they ever have firms good enough to be recognised
English football hooligans ruled Europe
I'm not advocating for violence either or glamorising it before someone gets on there soap box

You're totally missing the point, I'm well into my 60s now and was at it through the 70s and 80s, we went out every Saturday into other towns and stadiums taking risks it was a real adrenalin rush and comradeship. That Eastern European stuff is something completely different and less spontaneous, I'd never have been into that nonsense, those Russians still ran in France as soon as they met some opposition rather than scattering a crowd for the cameras.

I mean the reality is, that people who are not involved in football hooliganism at all, are very seriously impacted, by football hooliganism. I agree if some people want to fight, it's in theory not that bigger deal, but you can't have it impacting people who like football and regular everyday people, and trying to say it doesn't is just not true. If for some reason you have to fight, fair enough, but if you just want to fight for sport, then do a fighting sport, don't ruin football for everyone else.

The hooligan culture here is different now, it’s about being with your mate’s, looking the bollocks, having a laugh, a few beers and watching football. Plus the consequences here are far worse.
