And it reminds me of how I felt for much of the past 2 years. FEAR.
Fear that I wasn’t brave enough to weather through my choices.
Fear of making fxxking outrageous choices that scare the shit out of me.
Fear of being ostracised.
Fear of being shamed.
One step at a time. One decision at a time. Like the hill that winks at me each night, I struggled. Huffed and puffed my way up.
And suddenly I noticed that the hike wasn’t so tenuous.
It wasn’t because the hill gotten shorter or smaller.
It was because I’ve gotten stronger. (Or at least my lungs did.)
And that’s how it’ll be too when we come head to head with any of our fears.
We can always choose.
And choose again.
FEAR:
Forget everything and run.
Or
Face everything and rise.
