yeah based on what I have seen on Chief Makois channel, port stops are crunch time, so longer trips means less of those.

It still makes sense that longer voyages mean less rushed work, more time for everyone to get into a routine, stuff like that makes sense too.

As a truck driver long trips were so much better. 3 days of waking up driving, eating and sleeping with none of the hassle of getting loaded and unloaded, swapping trailers around, dealing with scheduling delays and more. I can definitely imagine taking a longer journey on an ocean freighter being a significantly better experience. A couple weeks of good sleep and routine allows you to be prepared to perform when you arrive and be motivated to keep going until you are reloaded and back at sea.

Many years ago I worked in an area where one person had been shot at the year before. Sure, being shot at ruins your day, but even working in an area where there's just a small chance of being shot at dials the fun factor down quite a few notches.
