Most of the people criticising Starmer only read the Telegraph headline, which was written by the editor, and not the actual article. He said that "she sought to unleash..." which is a statement of fact, not of approval. As the child of a coal mining family I hate and despise Thatcher but even I concede that in promoting the bill to ban chlorofluorocarbons she made use of her knowledge of chemistry and did some good.

The message is that Prime ministers aren't always the same and some do enact substantial change. In no way did he praise her, he said she caused substantial change, that's all.
