My cat is 15. He is still doing very well. Still looks pretty youthful. You wouldn't know he's as old as he is. The worst thing he has is asthma, which he's had since he was a kitten. I can't imagine giving him up. I always said, when he goes, I am only considering giving a home to older cats to need it.

My cat is 17. She recently exhibited signs of dementia as she cried out all day and night at our new apartment. I had to retire her at my parents (where she grew up) for her to not get confused and cry. It’s been a very hard transition as we were inseparable. But it’s the best place for her sanity. My Mom gives her all her medications and my Dad spoils her with feeding. Sometimes I get mad as she’s gained a lot of weight over there. But they’re doing the best they can. My parents are also elderly so they enjoy similar activities. Now we’re fostering senior pets in her stead. Love the years you have with your babies. It doesn’t last forever. ❤

I will never understand why people abandon senior pets. My dad's kitty Nimitz was the sweetest girl ever, and as she got older, she somehow became even more cuddly, always sitting on laps or next to my dad at his desk. She died a couple months ago at age 17. She demanded she be in the room with my parents for her final days, and ended up dying in my arms when I went to visit.
