im shocked how many people dont know how to drive this car. i own a 2024 honda accord sport hybrid.
some useful tips:
- accelerate gently to maximize mpg and duration in electric
-you're technically able to go all the way up to around 80mph in just electric if you feather the gas enough (if you're only able to go 20mph in electric then you are accelerating too hard or you are going up a grade
-ease off the pedal going downhill to ensure you're only using the battery or charging it to keep the engine from running
-run it in eco mode not normal
-if you feel the engine turn on but u have charger ease off the gas a bit and the car will only use electric power
-hit the electric button in traffic

24 CR-V Sport-L Hybrid here... My job is 1.2 miles away. When my battery is full I can drive the whole way to work without using gas. The only trick is to stay under 25 miles per hour, though. Otherwise the car will start the engine just to get the fluids circulating for about 20 seconds or so.
When fully warmed up this vehicle will go into EV mode at just about any speed. 75 MPH even. Whatever the car thinks is most efficient.

Even tho ur able to do that. It’s not the most efficient at all. The whole point of the gas engine other than charging the battery is that it is more efficient than the electric motor at higher speeds. For best economy let the car figure it out. The engineers who designed it are smarter than us.

Good video, now I want to know --- at highway speeds how fast can you go while still turning off the engine occasionally (into EV mode) ? I have Accord 9 and it can do it up until ~70 mph (though way too briefly for any real gain which is why I prefer 60-65). Certainly at 80 mph it's running the engine exclusively and not charging the battery any more.

Be aware: Honda Accord Hybrids do not come with a spare tire. You do get a tire repair kit and an air pump. Just visualize yourself trying to repair a flat tire in the middle of the night in the rain rain on a car that doesn't have a jack or tire iron. If it wasn't so dangerous It would be comical. Since I have been making these comments Honda has come up with a spare tire kit you can buy for $500 that gives you the missing content.

Sounds like a great, "i forgot to fillup the tank and need to make it 10mins to the gas station" feature shouldnt be stranded out of fuel anywhere
