I believe this to be true. As a child I grew up in a very abusive home. I had to come up with a āreasonā I was born into this horrible family in order for it make sense to me. The narrative I developed (and didnāt uncover until my 30s) is that I must have been so bad in a past life that this life was Godās punishment. So that I deserved everything bad that happened to me. Needless to say, much therapy and recovery was needed to undo all of this.
