Minimum wage goes up but the rest stay the same further increasing the gap between the have and the have nots. Say goodbye to the middle class- they've been slowly plugging away at it and now it's nearly gone. When minimum was $7 administrative low end paid $18, which was good. Minimum is $17 and they STILL pay $18. You'd think after a decade of employment one would be making strides- nope. After 10 years at the same job I made less above minimum wage than when I started. I made less over minimum after a decade then when I started!! Make that make sense. Hubby's job paid $30 per hour. He started last year. They changed and now all new hires start at $23. Make that make sense.

Min wage is fine. If you eat at home, have a cheap cell phone plan, take transit, and cheap internet, you will get by with money to spare. Problem is people eat out all the time want to spend money for leisure all the time.
