You don't even need to use chkdsk manually, Windows does it automatically if it thinks its possible that it has errors.

Please do not run random terminal commands on your computer unless you know what the command does. If something is wrong with your computer, and you don't know what to do, go to a reputable repair tech. The last thing you should do is enter in terminal commands that you don't understand as you could risk losing the data on your computer.

guys dont becuz last time i did this on my old laptop my windows crashed and i had to reset evrythng im now on my gaming laptop i aint doing this hope this helps from saving ur laptop or pc.
