TCW started as a kids show to give filler content between episodes 2 and 3. It turned into breaking your heart showing all your favorite characters dying, and the horrible amounts of war crimes committed by both sides.
Not to mention it made a generation feel like the best ending for them isn’t a peaceful death, but to die fighting against insurmountable odds.

That Corazon guard is the closest we have to the micro series, clone wars clone that defended against B2 battle droids. I like to think the clone in the clone wars show was him in some alternate timeline.
