For the people who swear it automatically means it's moving towards you have never used a spinning top or spun anything. Have you ever spun a quarter a saw it just stay in place at one point? That can happen with a very fast tornado like the one we see in the video. You can even see eventually see it starts moving to the right.

I do see movement. If you look down at the trees where the tornado meets ground, you can see it moving towards the right. Though I may be wrong.

To those saying “if a tornado is still, it’s coming right for you”. No it isn’t. It’s either still or heading away, as you can see the “foot” of it on the ground is getting smaller, so it’s either heading away or weakening. Plus, if it is heading for you, just go to the north of it.

When it looks like it’s not moving it’s actually moving toward you so be careful if you see that and gather up things you don’t want to lose then run in the basement or just find shelter

I’m almost positive that this is a landspout tornado, which means it’s not connected to a mid-level mesocyclone (or ‘shelf cloud’). Landspouts can remain stationary for long periods of time, or just barely move. They behave almost exactly in the same way as waterspouts. I don’t know exactly where this footage was taken from, but landspouts are very common in Eastern Colorado and Western Nebraska.
