Oh how I look forward to ‘hanging my shield in heaven’🛡️💖!!! A damaged, scuffed up, dented but lasting shield for Christ! How different all our boys would grow up hanging this verse in their hearts.. they would conquer for God’s glory amidst the struggles they face..thank you Pastor💪

Previous generations of Christians understood this. Part of the reason previous generations had hymns like "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" and heck even "Battle Hymn of the Republic" to a degree. But today much of the church has hymns that might as well be romantic songs about Jesus as a boyfriend. That doesn't really speak to men. This is just one thing, and it's also more of a symptom of an underlying disease than the disease itself, but still if more churches had menike Paul Washer preaching sermons like this, then more churches might speak more to men.
